Funerals
Covid-19:
During these difficult times whilst Covid-19 is still within our communities, funerals are still able to go ahead but within government and Church of England restrictions which seem to change on an almost daily basis!!! If you need information on holding a funeral at St James, please contact the vicar and he will be able to help and advise you.
Normal Times
At difficult times, such as bereavement, people often find comfort through the support of the local church, and we are always very pleased to offer whatever help we can for anyone living in our Parish.
Many people choose to have a Funeral service at the Crematorium. During the week our church building is used by groups in the community, but it is normally possible to arrange a service at St James, followed by a service of Committal either at a local cemetery or crematorium.
For all funeral services, arrangements should be made with a funeral director first, and they will then contact us on your behalf. We will gladly work with the funeral director of your choice.
Memorial Service
Every year in the Autumn, we hold a Memorial Service to which anyone who has been bereaved is welcome. Many people find this a helpful opportunity to give thanks for their loved one and to take time to reflect. The service is followed by light refreshments.
