Our Services
Following recent Government announcements (January 2021), we have made the difficult decision to close our doors to communal worship. This will be reviewed on a regular basis with updates found on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/stjamesblendon
Our services are being provided in paper format for those who wish to follow the service at home. These services can be found in Worship Resources under the Latest News, Covid page. Click here for the link.
If you find yourself in need of help/support/prayer during these difficult times, please do not hesitate to contact Vicar Ian on 0208 301 5387 or via social media / email.
Our Christmas services took place this year in a rather different format.
The link below will take you to various videos of services and parts of services that took place over the Christmas period.

Our Services (In normal times!!)
8.00am Holy Communion Service
This service follows the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) on the 2nd Sunday in the month and Common Worship (the modern Anglican Liturgy) on the 4th and 5th Sundays. It is a quiet, reflective service.
The 10.30am service is our main Sunday Service
1st and 3rd Sundays: Communion services, combining modern songs and traditional hymns with a flexible use of the Common Worship liturgy. The normal pattern during term-time is for the children to leave the service for their groups in the early part of the service, returning for Communion (no groups meet on a Messy Church Sunday).
The 3rd Sunday is usually a JuniorJames@10.30 Sunday in months when there is no Messy Church. It is a session when all the children's groups meet together for craft, worship and fun based on a story from the bible. Please check the calendar for dates.
2nd Sunday: Family Service, an informal service which is very well attended by adults and children alike, including the Guides, Brownies and Rainbow units.
4th Sunday: A relaxed service of Worship and Word with children's groups
5th Sunday: A combination of different styles, including cafe church
An in-church play area is available on all these Sundays for the Under-3’s.
In the school holidays, our main Sunday service caters for all ages.
Our music group provide the musical worship in church, using a variety of instruments with a mix of old hymns and modern worship songs:

3:30pm Messy Church - alternate months, please click here for our Messy Church page.
Mid-week Service
Our midweek service of Holy Communion is at 9:30am every Wednesday, and is held in the Chancel end of the church building. The service follows Common Worship on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of the month and the Book of Common Prayer on the 4th Wednesday. Following the service, there is an opportunity during school term-times to catch up with one another with refreshments in the hall at the weekly “Coffee Cup”.
